COFCO Regrets to Announce the Passing of Founder

It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of COFCO’s founder, David Einstein.  David passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

David was deeply loved by his family and friends and it can’t put into words the loss that will be felt by his passing. In addition to his family, those of us who had the opportunity to work under him will also feel a tremendous loss. He was an extraordinarily smart and accomplished entrepreneur who built a company that still represents and practices the same principles he used to create the name, COFCO, 68 years ago.

His exceptional work ethic, long term commitment to his clients and suppliers, diligence in strong financial practices, unwavering desire to always do the right thing and his belief that his colleagues were integral to both his personal and the company’s success made him truly one of a kind.

“I have always been so proud to say I worked for David Einstein. That will remain a statement which I will be immensely proud of for the rest of my life,” said Joan Waters, CEO.

Einstein’s vision for the company will be continued by his son, Alan, COFCO’s President and CEO Joan Waters.
