Case Study #1
Honickman Learning Center – Philadelphia, PA

“Project H.O.M.E. appreciates Cofco’s commitment to making our project a true success. Their commitment and quality products have made a very large and difficult project a great success. Without their energy, we could not have pulled this off.”

--Sandra Rosenberg
Senior Projects Manager, Major Projects Group

Project
Developed in partnership with Lynne and Harold Honickman, Aileen and Brian Roberts, the Comcast Foundation and the Honickman Foundation, this 38,000 square foot facility is the centerpiece of Project H.O.M.E.’s revitalization strategy for North Philadelphia.

Process
Project H.O.M.E. grew out of the experience and expertise of two programs that have been providing services to homeless persons: the Bethesda Project and Women of Hope. The Center’s programs focus on the integration of technology with art, education and enterprise.

Products
Cofco installed over 35 vendors over 6 weeks…on time! Some of the products on this job included Kimball Systems, KI Classroom products, Keilhauer Seating and Burroughs Shelving.

The Honickman Learning Center is the first of its kind and it offers literacy programs, after-school enrichment classes, computer education and the chance to edit video and produce newspapers and websites.

These programs focus on the integration of technology with art, education and enterprise. The programs are tailored to help the community move towards greater prosperity by increasing their opportunity for education and employment through technology and literacy instruction. The center is equipped with high-speed internet access, 255 computers and Smart Boards in every classroom to promote interactive learning while offering a cutting edge, educational, technological and creative environment.
